The Nose Clinic offers an all-inclusive quotation. This covers the full cost of the procedure, including the surgery, the operating theatre and staff and the specialist anaesthetist, as well as follow-up consultations for one year. The duration and complexity of the procedure are calculated into these costs.

Unfortunately we cannot give any quotations by mail or phone. Each nose is unique, like a finger print. When we are able to see the exterior shape of the nose only, we cannot see any anatomical distortions and physiological impairments that may be present inside the nose. What we see on the outside is sometimes just like the proverbial tip of the iceberg. Also, we are unique in that we specialise in both the function and form of the nose. It is essential, therefore, that we examine your nose thoroughly in person.
Our fees cover all the attendant charges related to the procedure - the theatre, specialist anaesthetist, specialist theatre staff, medication and post-operative care -- but not post-operative medication (which can vary between R300 and R500).
Surgical fees are to be paid in full at least 10 days prior to surgery. Although our fees exceed those of general cosmetic surgeons for similar procedures, our team's results are also unparalleled. And cost is only one of several factors to consider when embarking on a procedure that requires specialist expertise and experience and superior aesthetic skills. As someone once remarked wryly: 'The bitterness of poor surgical results remain long after the sweetness of low prices has been forgotten.'
The higher fees are also compensated for to some extent by the fact that we use our own dedicated, non-profit theatre, thus saving you the costs associated with expensive private clinics. Also, local anaesthetic is used, which is much cheaper and safer than general anaesthetic.

FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL PATIENTS
The favourable international exchange rate reduces the cost of cosmetic procedures in South Africa to approximately half of that for similar procedures in Europe and the USA.
To calculate approximately what a procedure will cost at the Nose Clinic, apply the current exchange rate to the figures supplied above (keeping in mind that these estimates may differ from the final quote).

NOTE: The Nose Clinic charges international patients identical rates to those charged to South African patients; we do not discriminate on costs.
HOW TO COMPARE SOUTH AFRICAN AND INTERNATIONAL FEES
International quotes generally reflect only the surgeon's fee, and do not usually include the costs associated with the hospital and specialist anaesthetist. Our fee is inclusive of all charges except that for post-operative medication.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
The Nose Clinic recommends several establishments situated conveniently close to the clinic, their fees ranging from R250 to R630 per day. We can also help you make the necessary reservations.
'TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION'
If you prefer, the Nose Clinic could also arrange an extension of your stay in South Africa to include a visit to one or more of South Africa's tourist attractions -- the Kruger National Park, the Palace of the Lost City, the Garden Route (including Cape Town) or Gold Reef City in Johannesburg. The costs will of course vary according to the length of your stay and the places visited.
MEDICAL COVER
Medical aid schemes do not reimburse members for cosmetic medical procedures, since these are not regarded as a necessity, but as a luxury. Most medical aids will, however, cover functional and reconstructive surgery to a greater or lesser extent. Check with your individual scheme for details.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The cost of a consultation is R300. We do not deal with the medical aid industry at all. We also unfortunately cannot accept credit or debit cards.
The cost of surgery at the Nose Clinic varies according to two significant factors - the expected duration of surgery, and the anticipated complexity of the procedure. Complex procedures are demanding, challenging and time-consuming; simple procedures less so.
To calculate the cost of procedures, we divide them into three broad categories:
- Relatively simple surgeries. The first category includes relatively simple surgeries (performed through the nostrils) to a 'virgin nose' (a nose that has not undergone previous surgery) to modify or remove a hump or to straighten a deviated nose or nasal septum.
- More complex surgeries. The second, more complex and demanding category includes a 'nasal tip refinement' and related aesthetic refinements.
- Revision surgeries. The third category includes 'revision surgery' to correct deformations caused by earlier, unsuccessful surgery performed elsewhere.
Virgin nose procedures take an hour to an hour and a half to complete, at an all-inclusive cost of around R30 000 and upward. More advanced procedures, using the 'open approach' that include 'tip refinements', cost (all-inclusively) R45 000 and upwards; these procedures last between three and three and a half hours.
Lengthy 'revision' procedures (lasting three to five hours), usually entailing open surgery and correcting scar tissue complications from earlier surgeries, can cost (all-inclusively) around R50 000 and sometimes more, depending on whether donor cartilage or imported Alloderm is required to obtain the desired result. If so, there is an additional cost of approximately R8 000 (about £800 Sterling or $12 000 US, depending on the current exchange rate).
In a nutshell: Most nose corrections and refinements 70-80% of them cost between R30 000 and R50 000. If you've previously had surgery, however, and the nose has to be opened up, and grafting material needs to be used, the cost can and most likely will be higher, sometimes much higher.
